General Working Principle Of A 24G V2 Blind Spot Warning System

The two microwave sensors of the product are its main technical component. A driver attaches both warning sensor probes inside the rear plastic bumper of the car. These sensors emit electromagnetic waves that aid in detecting and measuring target objects.

The objects inside the detection area reflect the rays to the sensors. So, the sensors receive the waves and calculate accurate measurements for the real-time detection of target objects.

The reflected waves help the blind spot warning system estimate the target object’s angle, distance, and speed. After the successful detection, the system warns the driver about possible threats with indicator lights and a buzzer. A vehicle becomes more vulnerable to collisions while changing a lane. Therefore, the buzzer sound prompts if the car driver switches on the turn signal.

What Are The Common Problems That A Blind Spot Warning System User Faces, And How To Deal With Them?

While the blind spot warning system functions, the driver may expect several errors throughout the working period of the system. Some of these errors and their solutions are as follows:

1. LED Does not turn on:

A broken LED light or a loose or missing harness connector can be a reason for this error. So, Check all the wire harnesses to ensure it connects properly and change the LED light.

2. Reverse Alarm Of Left And Right LED Light:

If the left and right LED light connector of the PCB is adversely connected, this error could pop up. So, reverse the back left right LED light connector on the PCB.

3. Buzzer Fails To Sound:

A loose or missing harness or broken buzzer can lead to the dysfunction of the buzzer alarm. So, Check the wire harness connection properly and change the buzzer only if the error remains.

4. System Malfunction:

A broken wire harness, poor contact connector, and broken microwave sensor can cause this error. So change the new wire harness or the microwave sensor to deal with this issue.

In installing a blind spot warning system, first of all, remove the rear bumper. Make sure you do not scratch the surface paint. Put the bumper onto a soft sponge or cloth pad.

Mark the corresponding side of the inner arc where you want to install the sensor. Wipe both the areas with alcohol for the stickers to be pasted.

Remove the 3M sticker of the warning sensor and paste it on the marked inner arc. During the installation of the blind spot warning system, be aware of the wire terminal direction sensor. Make sure to install the sensors in the horizontal direction with wire in the up or down direction.

Finally, permanently fix the microwave warning sensors with 704 silicon glue. Connect the sensor wire to the control box sensor extension cable.

Repeat the above procedure to install the other sensor.

  1. Special Blind Mirror Installation:

Remove the front door trim panel and the rearview mirror position. Now connect the LED extension wire connector of the blind spot warning system with the relative connector of the BSM rearview mirror of the car. Finally, plug in the heating plug with BSM rearview mirror.

  1. Universal LED light Installation (skip this process for the special product)

Paste the LED light near the rearview mirror, at a pillar, in an upside position. It will make it best to see the position of the rearview mirror at the very same instant.

  1. Control Box And Buzzer Installation:

Attach the buzzer near the driver’s seat to make it easy for the driver to hear. Install the control box in the plastic panel of the driver’s main car dashboard. Avoid the places of high temperature, moisture, or the areas of possible leakages.

How To Test Your 24G V2 Blind Spot Warning System After The Installation?

After the complete installation of the 24G V2 blind spot warning system, it is better to check whether the system is working properly or not. The driver can do it with several running tests, such as

1. Confirmation of installation status:

This step includes the physical overlook of system contents for any human error. So, before powering on, check if there is any abnormality in cabling and installation.

Specifically, check if the vehicle wire harness of the blind spot warning system is pressed, stretched, or miscued.

2. Power Restore:

First of all, start the car to ensure that the vehicle functions properly. If there is any abnormality or error in the vehicle’s functioning, check the wire harness installation.

3. Functional Test And Part Recovery:

Now, if you are installing the blind spot warning system before mounting the vehicle’s original parts, it is better to test the product. So, start the car and move it near the sensor’s back to see if the LED light turns on. Check it on both left and right radar sensors.

Switch on both the left and right turn signals separately one by one and walk around the car. If the LED blinks and produces a sound alert altogether, it means that the system function is working correctly.

Once the functionality test is passed, restore the uninstalled original car parts and check if the system functions the same as before.

What Are The Instructions For A User Of The 24G V2 Blind Spot Warning System?

After the complete installation and assurance of functioning of the blind spot warning system, there are several working instructions and details of the system’s working. These functionality overview and instructions are as follows:

  • After the car’s ACC power is turned on, the already installed LED lights, both on the left and right sides, will light simultaneously and turn off after 1 second. It indicates that the blind spot warning system is entirely functional and goes into working status immediately after starting.
  • When the reverse gear is hung, the system enters interference avoidance mode. In this mode, the system temporarily shuts down and resumes working once the vehicle exits the reverse gear.

● Left Side Blind Area Check:

  1. If the system detects a vehicle in the left rear blind zone of the car, the left side LED light will light up.
  2. If you switch on the left turn signal at that time, the light will start flashing as a significant reminder. At the same time, the buzzer starts sounding three consecutive alarms.

● Right Side Blind Area Check:

  1. The right indicating LED light will light up once the system detects a vehicle in the rear right blind spot of the car.
  2. If you switch on the right turn signal at that time, the light will start flashing as a reminder. Simultaneously, the buzzer will sound three consecutive alarms.

In other cases, the LED light and buzzer have no reaction or functionality.

  • There are several conditions under which the radar sensor may not detect the objects. Some of them are as follows:
  1. The vehicle is not close but in the blind spot behind the adjacent lane.
  2. If the approach between the target and your vehicle is opposite to each other.
  3. If the exceeding lane of the vehicle is extensive, exceeding the detection range of the radar probe.
  4. The warning sensor fails to detect the vehicle driving at the same speed and your driveway for a longer drive time.
  5. If the vehicles in the adjacent lanes try to exceed your car, the radar might not detect them as a target object.
  • The alarms and alert lights of the vehicle may not be activated or may be delayed under the conditions given below:
  1. When the vehicle changes from two lanes to adjacent lanes, the system may delay the alarm.
  2. The system can also find it difficult to detect and alarm the driver on steep slopes.
  3. When the vehicle passes through the vertices of a hill, the system can delay the alarm of light switching.
  4. When a small change in radius, like taking a deep turn at an intersection, is also one of the conditions.
  5. The system can fail to alert if there is a difference in altitude between the driving lane and the adjacent lane of the road.
  • If the vehicle’s width is narrow, the system falsely detects two-lane vehicles.
  • The signal light or alarm may turn on with the false detection of on-road or roadside stationary objects like road guards, concrete walls, tunnels, etc.

For vehicles’ safety and reliable transportation, the blind spot system has become a necessity for cars. So, every vehicle on the road must be equipped with a blind spot system.
