77G T1 Truck Lane Assist/BSD

Long-haul driving is not just about getting from point A to point B. It’s about saying safe every mile in between from driving fatigue, blind spots, and most importantly, lane change accidents. Approximately 539,000 lane change crashes occurred in the US in just one year. The worst part? This number is growing exponentially, globally.

Hence, you need an active solution like our truck lane assist. It works as your extra set of eyes— actively monitoring the road and alerting you before you make an incorrect lane change and risk a collision. Today, the traffic has increased significantly compared to the last decade. That is why a truck lane assist system is no longer optional; it’s a necessity, especially for professional drivers.

How Truck Lane Assist Prevents Accidents

A truck lane assist system combines advanced 77GHz millimeter-wave radar technology with visual and audio alerts to help drivers. It keeps you updated and aware of your surroundings, so you never have to change lanes or turn with guesswork.

Our lane assist kit uses two compact radar sensors—mounted on each side of the vehicle. The result? You can say goodbye to the most dangerous blind spots of your trucks and drive with more confidence. It ensures that you never miss any oncoming vehicle, big or small, during lane changes.

Key Features of The Truck Lane Assist System

Now, let’s see how our system upgrades on a traditional lane departure sensor with its advanced features:

Operational in All Conditions

Our lane assist system for trucks uses millimeter radar sensors. Simply put, they are operational in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, and snow. Plus, they resist common outdoor elements that block a truck’s vision, such as dust, fog, and dirt. It also means that you won’t need to clean the sensors frequently.

Auto Activation

Turning on a driving assistant system on a busy highway can be quite challenging. However, our lane assist automatically activates when you start your truck. It auto-deactivates as well when your truck is turned off. This minimizes human input and lets drivers focus on the road without worrying about activating or deactivating the lane assist.

Multi-Alert Mechanisms

Our lane assist system for trucks has multiple mechanisms to alert the driver. It uses left and right warning lights attached to both sensors. Additionally, it also has a buzzer that sits inside the truck cabin. So, even if you miss the visual cues, the audible warnings ensure you always stay on top of the situation.

Large Range & Precision

Our lane change assist system can detect vehicles as far as 50m. This helps drivers proactively see any vehicle before it gets to a critical distance and stay ahead of the situation. However, this long range doesn’t compromise the sensors’ accuracy. Our sensors are well-tested in competitive scenarios to ensure that they don’t trigger false alarms or miss any situation—that is how we have maintained a 98% success rate with our products.

Let us tell you the impressive specifications of our truck lane assist and the accessories you get with it.

Our lane change assist for trucks is a multi-function system. It provides blind spot detection, lane change assist, and active overtaking alert all in one solution.

It operates on two different levels. The Level 1 warning triggers LED lights for visual alerts. However, the Level 2 warning indicates increased danger with lights and buzzer sounds.

Here’s how these functions work collaboratively:

1. Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

One of the most common reasons for side collisions and lane change accidents is the blind spot. It is that hidden zone that exists in all vehicles, but drivers cannot view it due to the vehicle’s build, poor mirror positioning, and the driver’s height.

That is why our truck lane assist system offers blind spot detection. The sensors have a detection range of 3m from the side and 15m from behind. This range covers the entire left, right, and rear blind spots

The best part? This blind spot detection requires zero driver intervention. The warnings automatically turn off when the vehicle leaves your blind spots, so you can avoid unnecessary distractions. Moreover, this BSD function works in all weather and lighting conditions to prevent costly and dangerous blind spot accidents.

2. Lane Change Assist (LCA) Proximity Warning

A large vehicle like a truck has more extensive blind spots—making it equally challenging to change lanes. Our system offers a lane change assist (LCA) feature to help you avoid collisions with oncoming vehicles when your vision is limited.

The range of this lane change can extend up to 50m behind your vehicle. However, these sensors also cover adjacent lanes with up to 3m detection range from both left and right sides. So, the system doesn’t miss anything, either from the side or behind your truck.

Additionally, the warning lights and buzzer sounds automatically stop when the vehicle leaves the detection area. This way, you can change lanes safely and with confidence.

3. Active Overtaking Alert (AOA) Warning

The side-view mirror might not be very effective on busy highways due to speeding vehicles. That is why our system includes an active overtaking alert (AOA) for drivers to catch oncoming vehicles before they turn into close calls.

The AOA continuously monitors a detection zone 3 meters wide alongside your truck and 15 meters behind. In short, this range covers the critical area where a speeding vehicle might enter and attempt to overtake your truck.

Have you unboxed your truck lane assist? No need to get confused or overwhelmed by the components. Here’s the complete installation process step-by-step:

Step 1: Choose Installation Location

The first step is to choose the right installation location for your truck. Now, this can vary depending on your specific vehicle and its build. However, there are a few things to consider:

  • Choose a mounting height between 0.5 to 1.2m from the ground.
  • Pick the right mounting locations on the left and right sides of the truck.

Step 2: Mount the Sensors

Next, let’s start mounting the sensors. Follow these steps:

  • Position the right radar on the rear right side of the truck and the left radar on the rear left side.
  • Ensure each radar is tilted slightly backward and mounted vertically.
  • Secure both sensors with screws.

Step 3: Indicator Lights & Buzzers

It’s time to mount the lights and buzzers on your truck. Here’s how to do it:

  • Mount the left and right warning indicator lights on both A-pillars inside your driver’s cabin.
  • Attack the buzzer in the cabin, preferably on the dashboard.

Step 4: Wiring Connections

Let’s connect the system. Firstly, link each sensor to its corresponding indicator light with the indicator light extension cables.

Now, connect the power cable with these instructions:

  • Red wire – ACC+ (power positive)
  • Black wire – GND (ground)
  • Yellow wire – Left turn signal positive
  • White wire – Reverse light positive

Lastly, secure the cables with the cable ties that come with our system.
